Our Young Chefs Story

 

Rhylie Pulsipher, Founder & Lead Educator


Young Chefs Culinary Academy was founded by Rhylie Pulsipher—a culinary professional, educator, veteran, and lifelong leader with a passion for guiding young people toward confidence and success.

Rhylie was born in 1994 in Riverside, California, and in 2001 moved to Texas, where she grew up, graduated high school, and began her journey of service by joining the United States Army. That early foundation of discipline, structure, and leadership continues to shape her teaching philosophy today.

After completing her military service, Rhylie pursued her passion for food and education through formal culinary training and real-world industry experience.

Rhylie brings both hands-on culinary expertise and advanced business and leadership education to every program she designs.


Education & Degrees:

  • Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Graduate with Honors
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master’s Degree in Leadership
     

Professional Credentials:

  • Certified Culinary Educator (CCE)
  • CPR Certified
  • First Aid Certified


This unique blend of education allows Rhylie to teach cooking not only as a skill—but as a foundation for responsibility, confidence, and leadership.


 PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

Rhylie’s career in the culinary industry began where many great chefs start—on the line.

From line cook to chef, and later advancing into supervisory, management, and executive leadership roles, she gained extensive experience in:

  • Kitchen operations 
  • Team leadership
  • Training and mentorship
  • Food service management
  • Program development

She also successfully owned and operated her own baking business, further deepening her understanding of entrepreneurship, creativity, and accountability.

Her career eventually led her to the role of Food Services Director, where she discovered her greatest passion wasn’t just cooking—it was leading, teaching, and nurturing others.

As Rhylie grew in her career and life experience, one truth became clear:

Leadership isn’t just about managing people—it’s about empowering them.
 

Young Chefs Culinary Academy was created to do exactly that.

This academy exists to help children:

  • Build real, age-appropriate culinary skills 
  • Develop confidence and independence
  • Learn responsibility and teamwork
  • Express creativity without fear
  • Feel proud of what they can accomplish
     

Rhylie’s desire is to empower young chefs with skills, confidence, and creativity, guiding them from their very first recipe to fearless culinary exploration.

As a solo founder and lead educator, Rhylie personally:

  • Designs every curriculum 
  • Teaches each class 
  • Sets the standards
  • Builds relationships with students and families

This hands-on approach ensures:

  • Consistent instruction
  • High expectations with compassionate guidance
  • A safe, supportive learning environment
  • A truly personalized experience for every child
